Du Dessin à l'animation du dess(e)in presents a selection of recent works by eighteen artists who renew the art of drawing by exploring the possibilities offered up by other mediums and by new technologies. Be it charcoal, ink, light, pencils, dry-point, of body or mind, the trace and line occupy the visual field and take act without limits, ignoring all disciplinary boundaries.

An ancient discipline, drawing, in the era of computers and video games, doesn't hesitate to distance itself from the sheet of paper and henceforth proposes a multidimensional reading. Marrying up traditional techniques to those of cartoon cinema , todays artists play around with artistic frontiers in order to give free reign to the expression of their personality.
The theme of the exhibition is fully inscribed in the dynamic of numerous artistic manifestations, exhibitions, fairs, biennials, that henceforth take into account the varied and innovating forms that contemporary drawing takes.

The creators, reunited in the exhibition in a spirit of meeting, thus show the multiple exploitations and developments of drawing in current art.

Produced and realized by the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles in Paris, the exhibition Du Dessin à l'animation du dess(e)in is presented on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Galerie de Prêt d'oeuvres d'art de Woluwe-Saint-Lambert (Brussels).
